Autumn Colors from the Air

Drone videos of fall foliage: gorges, temples and waterfalls wrapped in red and gold.

For a few weeks each autumn, Japan's mountains turn red and gold, moving from Hokkaido in late September to the south by early December. From the air the colors read as whole valleys rather than single trees, and a drone can follow a river through the foliage in a way no viewpoint can.

This collection gathers the videos on AirViewHub tagged Fall colors: gorges such as Futakuchi and Kankakei, temple grounds, and waterfalls framed by maples. Each one is pinned to its location, so you can plan a trip around places that were at peak color when they were filmed.

Foliage timing shifts every year. Use the video dates as a guide, and check local reports before you go.
